Installed ClassicShell on Windows 8 with IE10.When I mouse over a taskbar thumbnail it opens to about 2.5x2.5 inch mini window, but does not expands to full size when I mouse over it as it does in Windows 7.
The only way is to click on it, which opens the particular window as expected.

Is this a "natural behavior" with Windows 8 and/or IE10?? Any configuration hint?
thanks.

Note: some people have said the functionally is working in W8 as in W7, but, they don't have ClassicShell installed.

It works for me just fine. If you suspect Classic Shell is the culprit, uninstall it and try again. Your settings will be preserved for the next time you install it.

hi Ivo,
1. Exited from the Start Menu icon. Taskbar was with some windows/programs icons, no thumbnail expansion
to full readable size upon hovering on it, as in W7.
2. uninstalled CS, rebooted. No change with programs thumbnailed in Taskbar.
3. downloaded/installed latest CS v.3.6.7
used pinned and unpinned programs. No change in behavior. The most I get when hovering on any opened
miniature window is a white Text block below each hovered window showing the name of the window, or
program name. That is ALL.
This began right after updating W7 to W8 on Jan 31st with the $39.95 offer, went OK.
Any other help? and thanks for your early reply.

Question: if my settings from original CS install were preserved as you said, would I be importing some bad configuration?

Well, if uninstalling CS didn't fix your problem, then most likely CS wasn't the problem.

What I think you are describing is not normal behavior for Windows 8. Something may be messed up with your system. It may be some Windows setting somewhere, or related to the upgrade process. I would personally never upgrade from Win7 to Win8 in place. But then again, that's just one possibility for the source of the problem.
