Novice here.

MSI . GS70 2OD-002US 17.3-Inch Laptop
Intel Core i7-4700HQ 2.4 GHz
16 GB DDR3L SDRAM
1024 GB 7200 rpm Hard Drive, 256GB Solid-State Drive (2 X 128GB RAID)
NVIDIA GeForce GTX765M
Windows 8.0

was using a paid app for Start. I use MS Start Apps and also put a shortcut on desktop. when I switched to Classic Shell , the Start Apps shortcut became unresponsive ( it would open folder with list of MS Store apps) in all its locations. Have to go to individual apps... When unistalled, Start Apps icon is again responding.

Any way to correct this?

Download the Classic Shell Utility from here: http://classicshell.net/downloads/
Run it and send me the log file.

The shortcuts in Application Shortcuts cannot be launched from Explorer. Maybe you had another software like StartIsBack in the past that made them executable. Just to be sure, show me a screenshot of when it is working and when it is not working.

There is no such view in Windows 8. It is most likely a feature of StartIsBack. It won't work after you uninstall SIB.

Yes I can confirm that the folder (shell namespace extension) named "Start Apps" is created by StartIsBack+.
