I could not find a reference to this post's title search string with Google site:xxx, so I hope I’m not repeating a previous feature request.

In a Windows version prior to Windows-XP (probably Windows-NT or Windows-2000), I recall being able to drag a Navigation Pane folder out of Windows Explorer and onto my Desktop, at which time a new Explorer window would appear with the dragged folder becoming the root of its subdirectory tree. All supra-directories were pruned away. I found this to be a real productivity booster when simultaneously working with several subdirectories.

This is my Feature Request DuJour for the next upgrade of Classic Shell.

I am pretty sure Explorer doesn't have the ability to change the root. And it is not something that Classic Shell can add.
