On Windows 8, the Icon for the Apps-Menu isn't the one from the normal programmenu (like it was in previous Versions), but a strange-looking Rhombus. Maybe some People find this very "useful", but I personally don't see any Point in having a different, not so clear Icon for the apps. Is there a way to Change that Icon back to "normal"? |

What icon do you think is "normal"? Do you mean a regular yellow folder? |

Ah, I think I know what you mean - the Programs icon from the classic menu. It can't be used for Apps because this icon doesn't have a 64x64 resolution, so it can't be used in the right column of the Windows 7-style menu. |

But it was used before, wasn't it? So, if it can't be used, how come it was used in the previous version? |

In the new version you can have Apps in the right column and when you select it the icon has to show at the top (like in Windows 7). For that new feature I need an icon that has 64x64 resolution. |

Okay. Is that Icon only needed for the Win 7 menu and can be changed to "normal" for the classic start menu? |

Correct. For the 2 classic styles you can change the icon to whatever you want. Use "shell32.dll,326" to get the old Programs icon. |
