Idea of underlined numbers for recently launched programs is nice but it does not work when search box is blinking. I would like function keys on keyboard F1-F12 to open recently launched programs. It has benefit that search box can have blinking cursor yet I go Win, F6 to launch sixth program. Also 12 keys gives 2 more extra programs support.

Please consider as substitute or addition to 0-9. I enable full 20 recently launched programs. Top 10 can have F1-10 and bottom 10 can have 0-9.

Function keys should work only when main menu open. Thank you.

You can use Alt+1, ... to activate the digits even when the search box is selected.

I know but Alt-1, 2 is not as simple as F1, F2 as it is two key combination. I enable all 20 recently launched programs so for top 10 I would like F1, F2..F10 and bottom 10 Alt-1, 2..Alt-10. If less than 10 programs enabled it can be simple F1, F2.

Any update on this being added? when I set start menu to show numbers alt works only for ten programs but I cannot open other applications wihout numbers using keyboard shortcut. I would like F1 to F12 to open other applications

This is a good idea but note that only 20 programs can be shown on the MFU list so if F1 to F12 are used, then only Alt 0 to 7 or Alt 1 to 8 can be used. Or Alt 0 to 9 and F1 to F10.

No, this is not a planned feature. For one, it is not standard, and for two, it is not discoverable.

you can write underlined function keys before application names like numbers. it is single keystroke which is easier for me than alt combination   it will give all applications a shortcut to open
