This version contains a fix for the crash in Explorer that some people have experienced with version 4.0.5. It is recommended that you upgrade if you are currently using version 4.0.5.

Next release is Classic Shell 4.1.0
Previous release was Classic Shell 4.0.5.

I was unable to download this because Norton antivirus says it is infected.

What about Windows 8 (Spring) Update 1? As it altered the Star Bar, has 4.0.x been tested with the new version of Windows that was release to Windows Update today - It was available from MSDN last week.

Yes you can install Update 1 safely.

This looks like a false positive. The English installer doesn't trigger this check: https://www.virustotal.com/en/file/3cb4 ... /analysis/
The only difference between English and Italian is the language files, which are not executable.

Just to point out the Classic Shell Update (ClassicShellUpdate.exe) said that I was up to date on version 4.0.4
Maybe the update checker page was not updated?

There is a problem with the auto-update for 4.0.4, 4.0.5 and 4.0.6. Because of that I have temporarily disabled the system. It will be enabled in a week or so after the next version is released.

My 64-bit Win7sp1 Dell laptop is currently using Classic Start Menu 4.0.4. I am not having any problems with it, and I am considering installing it on my wife's new 64-bit Win7sp1 Lenovo Thinkpad T530 Laptop.

What are the advantages (if any) for 64-bit Win7sp1 laptops of upgrading from 4.0.4 to 4.0.6? (I am guessing that any new improvements or features on 4.1.0. are primarily for Windows8.)
