I wanted a start button that wasn't obvious, and blended with Windows 10, while not seeming out of place. So I created a start button that mirrors the Show Desktop button. Here's how it looks: And here's the image. Currently, it does require Small Taskbar Buttons to be enabled to look good, but you could probably fix that with some stretching. I won't be adding a regular version for now.

That minimalist button is out of the box cool. I gotta try making one for big icons. Thanks |

Back again. I made for big icons 100 percent size. It works on my Windows 10. Don't know about others. When I tried your button with large icons, it left a little space at corner to access Win-X context menu. So I made button with blank space at left corner. That's where it can open the Win-X context menu. Right click on that small corner for Win X menu, or right click up further to get CSM context menu.

Probably because I never use it - I didn't know it existed until recently lol. Can I add those buttons to the original post, with credit to you? |

Sure, do whatever you want. It was your idea. I will delete my post after you assemble together. |

Actually I kinda like it, I really liked the idea behind the show desktop button.. and it not obscuring the clock which should basically be justified right. (though I'm not a fan of its function, and hardly use it, maybe make notification center open with the show desktop button, with a right click showing desktop.) Though having an actual start button just feels too iconic to throw away.. I could see a 'tab' replacing the task-view button on windows 10 (i still dont see why windows 10 has both taskview and alt-tab they should merge them) |
