Hi all! :D What about porting this WONDERFUL program to Windows 98 or Millenium? I already have a program that makes grey windows and the start buttton look like in windows 7! But the start menu itself is "old" :( . So I ask you: please port it to Windows 98/ME!))) I've studied the code and I think that there a few things that you should change (e.g. the register).
P.S. Russian students (e.g I) speak English fluently

LOL what? :D :P You are kidding right? Classic Shell uses too many APIs and functions present only in Windows 7 and later to be ported to older versions of Windows. Luckily for you, Windows 7/8.1 can for the most part do everything that Windows 9x/Me did. :P

I apologize for asking this, but wouldn't this potentially open the door to compatibility with OpenNT, ReactOS, and/or Windows XP (all of which could aid in restoring more of the Classic Theme's usability on Windows 10 :V )?

It would be steps towards working on those systems yes; however aside from xp none of the other mentioned Os's have a sizable market share.... and reactOS is quite unstable in its current form..

Well then that's that

(What I'm really wondering about is if it'd be possible to inject Classic Shell into Windows XP's explorer run in compatibility mode on Windows 8.1, and/or 10. Same for Vista's .__________. )

So, if you can't port it, why don't you just rewrite it at least for windows xp/2000? I can launch it on Windows 98 via KernelEX)

By the way, ViStart almost runs successfully on Windows ME, but the error is about the register(((
