I wanted a Windows 95-esque Start button.

I wanted a square Start button.

Problem: I didn't like the way the text in the word "Start" got warped inside a square button.

Solution: Make the Windows 95 Start button be a square instead of a rectangle, and remove the word "Start" from it so that only the iconic Windows 95 flag remains in the button.

Feelings: Happy

Is it pixelated on purpose to have that retro look? :P If not, here it is in ICO format and slightly less pixelated. You have a separate "Classic Button" option where you can use an icon, not an image and Classic Shell draws the grey button for you. Also, if you are using the Classic button and this icon (attached), you can remove the text "Start" from the button. On the "Start Button" tab of Classic Start Menu settings, there is a "Button text" option. Make it blank.
