@Kokopelli, Classic Explorer is a plugin for Windows Explorer that restores some missing functionality Microsoft took out. It has to play nice by Microsoft's rules and use their APIs to plug into it and restore whatever features are possible. If Windows decides that certain add-ons need to be explicitly enabled by the user, it's not right for the addon to force enable itself.
With the kind of attitude you have, it's hard to know what you expected from "Classic Explorer". The whole Explorer rewritten from scratch replacing the Windows Explorer? That's a job for a huge team of developers, not a single developer, giving away his professional-grade work for free.
