Ver 1.0 has finally been released to the public, However i am experiencing 2 classic shell related bugs:

Disable taskbar transparency unchecked (which according to you should mean nothing is being added) results in a clear, but non-blury taskbar
Disable taskbar transparency checked results in a clear and blury taskbar rather than an opaque one

The start menu itself has 0 transparency (with exception to parts of the skin that are 100% transparent) regardless of full alpha or full glass settings

Didn't this used to work with an older version of Aero Glass? I have not seen it for myself though, only screenshots from people posting here.

yes it worked up until the final release (the previous version required the user to manually replace dlls and write to the registry, the release version is suposed to handle all that itself..., and should not have caused issue... as far as i know but ill look into it a bit

Btw Jcee are you using a custom visual style?

Same observation for me. With Aero Glass mod 1.0, default Windows 8 theme and 'Disable taskbar transparency' checked results in a non-opaque taskbar with blur but the transparency is so subtle that it's hard to spot it. The setting unchecked results in a regular, transparent, clear one like Windows 8 has.

But I don't understand. What are the 2 bugs? With the mod installed, taskbar transparency can't be controlled completely by Classic Shell, right? What is the expected behavior?

yes i'm using (http://xxinightxx.deviantart.com/art/Aero-8-350491112)
and 7+taskbar tweaker and display fusion
and display fusion
and ofcourse classic shell
Also i've noticed some taskbar discrepancies, IE when dragging a window it can be above one taskbar, and below another

So we both have glass, latest beta classic shell, and 7+taskbar tweaker installed. (duno if you have display fusion or not, if not, and your symptoms are the same we can rule it out..) i might do some test after i sleep :P

Tried the mod and it looked good until it popped up a ugly Windows 95 type dialog box bugging me to donate. Then I found out it will do it constantly until you do. Just make it shareware then. Uninstalled.

yea I uninstalled it to, the only reason i've been supporting it was the fact it was promised as freeware. the beta had the message to :P, but it was supposed to be removed for the final version
Funny thing is, I had plans to donate as soon as the 1.0 release came out without the message :P

So aero glass works fine for you giving the taskbar/windows transparency and blur, but it doesn't work on the start menu? poping up with that error? and does the start menu work with aero glass disabled?

the taskbar is transparent by default (before aero glass mod), so it sounds like you havnt installed it properly the steps for the 8.1 alpha are likely different than the 1.0 release where you only have to run an executable (I know with versions before 1.0 you had to manually do a few things to get it to use the mod) which I assume may be the case with the alpha version.
This is an Aero Glass issue and should be discussed http://www.msfn.org/board/topic/163725-aero-glass-for-win8-12/
(Though I would recommend reading up on that post to see if your question has already been answered as it likely has)
