In the section of the Start menu where recently used programs should appear, I have only a blank white area.

This does not occur for the 3.6.8 version of this product.

What is your selection for "Show recent or frequent programs" in the Main Menu tab?

It was set to Frequent Programs. I changed it. Thanks! Shouldn't Recent Programs be the default?

Recent is the default for the Classic styles for backwards compatibility with older versions.
Frequent is the default for the Windows 7 style because that's how the Windows 7 menu works.

Also, if you don't want Frequent programs to be empty, you must turn on the Windows setting for it from Taskbar Properties -> Jumplists tab -> Store and display recently opened programs (Note that Windows calls this "Recently opened" but in reality, they're most frequently used programs that Windows keeps a list of).
