Hi all

Whenever I set "Hide extensions for known file types" OFF, that is, so file extensions show, the setting does not stay fixed.

It seems to reset itself ON, so file extensions do not show.

Very frustrating. I can't seem to track the cause. It's not doing it on PC reboot, just seems to reset itself!

Any ideas anyone -suggestions appreciated.

Cheers

Classic Explorer doesn't touch this behavior so some other program is causing it to be turned off.

Hi,
I am using Classic XP view. I don't seem to be able to find option to set "Hide extensions for known file types".
I want to display file extensions. How to do that? I have over 20 years experience setting "Hide extensions for known file types" in windows xp to 7.
Thanks
David

In the Start Menu, search for Folder Options and locate it on the View tab.
