Hi,

When a new user logs into Win 10 (1607), ClassicShell Start Menu has items at the top of the menu, above my pre-pinned items (%appdata%\classicshell\pinned). How can I get rid of those from a batchfile?

See attached picture.

Thanks for your help.

B

Save your settings to XML file and attach it here.

These are the frequently used programs. You can turn it off using the "Show recent or frequent programs" setting. Set it to "Don't show".

Thanks. I actually want frequent and recent programs to show, I just want it to start with a blank list for a new user.

So, do you know a way to clear them out with a command line, thus avoiding having to right click and remove from list for each one for each person?

Also, why are they appearing above the pinned items? Shouldn't the recent/frequent list appear below the pinned items?

There is a Start Menu Setting on the Main Menu tab called "Show recent programs on top" that controls this. Frequent programs data is under control of Windows. I don't think Windows allows clearing them from the command line.
