If I am happy with Windows 8.0 as fixed by Classic Shell is there any benefit to installing 8.1 only to fix it with Classic Shell all over again?
Well I would say the benefits of installing Windows 8 over Windows 7 are also questionable unless you can't do without "Apps".
And the benefits of installing Windows 7 and then fixing it with Classic Shell and numerous other third party apps are also questionable over Windows XP Professional. (depends on what features of Windows 7 you want which you miss in XP vs what you desire from XP and wish you had it in Windows 7)
