I've just joined & want to start by saying how wonderful it is to have CSM! :D I have Windows 10 & previously used Windows XP (which I loved). When I hover my mouse on any item that's on the Taskbar, the background becomes dark blue. This prevents me from using a dark color for text, as it becomes unreadable.

In Windows XP, this didn't happen. The button on the taskbar appeared depressed when it's corresponding window was active & the background became a lighter shade, but you could still read dark text.

Is there a setting that will prevent the taskbar background from changing color when the mouse hovers over it?
Thank you in advance,

You can skin the entire taskbar using Classic Shell.

For Windows 8.1 and Windows 7, there is a fixed theme available that fixes the issue where active window does not show a depressed button: http://winaero.com/blog/make-active-win ... tton-look/

But Windows 10 is a fundamentally broken/flawed operating system. Any attempts to tweak or fix it to make it work the way you want will be thwarted by Microsoft. Updates will reset and undo all your tweaks or even break the OS.

Thank you for your reply. I finally was able to fix it by playing around with modifying a different theme. Don't recall the exact modification.
