Hello -
I'm new to this forum.
I've been using Classic Shell for several years and am now experiencing a problem with Win 10.
Recently installed 10 Prof. on new PC. Classic Explorer settings are ignored. Retains the MS ver. 10 Explorer window. Classic Start Menu works - no problem.
Have tried all the suggestions I can find on the forum without success:
Changed settings in IE browser, deleted registry entry, uninstalled, (using Classic Shell Utility.exe) and reinstalled Classic Shell, etc.
I also have a laptop running Win 10 Prof.
After the Win. 10 August Anniversary Update Classic Explorer works fine on the laptop.
Running out of ideas. Any help / suggestions are appreciated.

What Classic Explorer settings are being ignored? Do any of the Classic Explorer features actually work?

The toolbar currently has the Windows 10 ribbon drop downs with headers: FILE, HOME, SHARE, VIEW, DRIVE TOOLS / MANAGE.
I should be seeing FILE, EDIT, VIEW, TOOLS, HELP along with the older, (Win 7) more user friendly drop-down options underneath
which are: ORGANIZE, INCLUDE SELECTED FOLDER IN LIBRARY, SHARE WITH, BURN, NEW FOLDER.
Other Classic Explorer features seem operational - at least the one's I've tried so far.
I also imported Classic Shell settings using the XML backup file I generated from my laptop, (which is working).
The XML file didn't change anything on the new desktop PC. Same 'ol, same' ol.
Thanks for your interest!!

Sorry, Classic Shell does not affect the ribbon. You need to look at other tools for that, like search for "ribbon disabler".

Problem Solved.
THANK YOU VERY MUCH!
Winaero Ribbon Disabler did the trick.
I use Winaero Tweaker but didn't realize there is a ribbon tweaker too.
Thanks to all the third parties who are helping to keep Windows 10 in its' cage.
