Classic Shell: Forum

So this is driving me nuts but I'm not 100% if it's due to the classic shell start menu or explorer (only two options I installed). The control panel is now fixed in 'large icons' view, which for me, sucks. I want the newer 'categories' view, which is 500% better than sifting through a million icons and even having to scroll around to find what I want.

I can change it to that view right there in the control panel, but it just reverts back every time I re-open it. I can't find any relevant setting in either the shell start menu settings, or explorer settings. Please tell me there's a way to set the default to the far superior categories view...

Open the start menu settings and type "categories" in the search field at the top. It will find a setting to open the Control Panel in categories mode.
