When the computer starts up, before loading operating system, it checks to see what it's connected to.
If anything wrong, there is usually some text on screen, or some extra beeps.
Was there anything like that?
Was a firmware update done before computer could not boot?
Even a seized up fan/loose heat sink can make problems too, though after a minute or two.
