clrSharp1 2 3 .skin & .skin7 upgraded for CSM 4.2.5

I saw these CSM skins on Deviant, made by pioneer John Edward.

clrSharp http://johnedwa.deviantart.com/art/clrS ... -155201674

clrSharp2 http://johnedwa.deviantart.com/art/clrS ... -159425288

clrSharp3 Dual http://johnedwa.deviantart.com/art/clrS ... -275666986

They needed to be updated to work properly with CSM 4.2.5 which I've done.

He made them to go with "Clearscreen Sharp" theme on Windows 7.
They can work without the theme in Windows 10. There won't be text glow.

Menu looks, are totally different between operating systems, some pleasant, some not.
Win 10 will boost the glass color and opacity blur.

To reduce the residual non neutral glass color on Win10, do any, or all of these adjustments:
In Windows personalize settings-pick a dark grey color
In CSM settings-reduce "Glass opacity" in "menu Look" tab.
In CSM settings-change "Override glass color" in "menu Look" tab, to a dark grey/black.
In skin settings- turn on "Reduce Glass Color"

To stop brief glass color flash around menu, turn off "Main menu animation" in "Menu Look" tab.

Edit: I changed this post by getting rid of scrunched up icons screenshot.
It was too scary and it's fixed in this all in one skin zip. :)

hello juniper7

ça fait un moment que je "louche" sur ce thème, et un moment que je m'y casse les dents !
je sais que vous ferez bien mieux !
à bientôt

It has been one moment since I "squint" at this theme, and a moment when I break myself teeth there!
I know that you will do much better! :P
See you soon

Pipalou50,
I think I know what you are talking about.
With no theme in Win7, you get very powerful white glow. Hard to read.

It is best to turn off glow, unless you are using the "Clearscreen Sharp" theme by K-Johnson.

The maker of this skin, John Edward, advises to turn on the "Aero fix" option.
This makes a now dark grey glow using theme, into softer glow blend behind text.

All I have done is upgraded his skins to have newer features that CSM provides.
Like split buttons, better no icon control, 7 style extension. :)

bonjour Juniper7,
cordialement

Hi Juniper7,

I have a soft spot for the clrSharp 2, but it misses the possibility of adding his avatar.
moreover, I also like the shadow (relief) of the text of Clasetro revC, which I use daily.

is it possible to combine the two?

clrSharp 2 with user image + relief of Clasetro revC

it's possible ?

cordially

OK, so Pipalou50.
Je vous laisse le soin de traduire en français

Added User Image to classic/7 style clrSharp2
Round, or square.
Can use transparent icon picture, when added to its "User Picture" location in the "General Behavior" tab.

Added Text Shadow to classic/7 style clrSharp2

Edwards clrSharp2 skin/skin7 is so beautiful,
I hope I'm not offending him adding the text shadow.
I could never figure out how to make it look good with black text and text shadow.

You can go into file, and edit for darker or lighter text shadow:

[GLASS_SHADOW AND BLACK_TEXT]
Main_text_shadow_color=#D0D0D0,#D0D0D0,#FFFFFF,#FFFFFF

to shadow lighter
Main_text_shadow_color=#FFFFFF,#FFFFFF,#FFFFFF,#FFFFFF

Same with white text:

[GLASS_SHADOW]
Main_text_shadow_color=#202020,#202020,#000000,#000000

to shadow darker
Main_text_shadow_color=#000000,#000000,#000000,#000000

I never tested new skin on Windows 7, where Glow is available.
There might be interaction when glow and text shadow both enabled?

Not sure if I missed any mistakes? Let me know. :)
